Dr. Yongfeng Zhang, director of International Shipping Research Department of the Shanghai International Shipping Institute and Supervisor of Master Students at Shanghai Maritime University, has been to Washington, Brussels and Beijing many times to attend the Global Regulatory Summit participated by China, the US and the EU. He is engaged in the scientific research in the field of shipping ports. He has presided over or participated in over 80 research projects, such as the study on the layout of ship trading organizations of the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China (MOT), the shipping development planning in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Zhoushan, Wuhan, Tianjin and other cities, the study on Negative List and the evaluation of the opening-up policy in international shipping. He has published over 40 applied papers on ports and shipping, and participated in writing and publishing of many monographs. The International Shipping Research Department that he is in charge of has been tracking the shipping market for a decade. In addition, it organizes the compilation of Shipping Market Analysis Report regularly. Dr. Yongfeng Zhang has been interviewed by TV broadcaster CCTV and news agencies such as the Agence France-Presse (AFP), the Daily Telegraph, the Xinhua News Agency, the Ta Kung Pao of Hong Kong and the Global Times many times. He has also been invited by major chambers of commerce and shipping groups to give keynote speeches.
