Mr. Charles Tang is Chairman of Brazil-China Chamber of Commerce, member of the World Policy Institute of New York and Fernand Braudel Institute of World Economics in Sao Paulo. He introduced leasing into Brazil as executive for the Bank of Boston and also established the first leasing company in Spain. Charles is Honorary President of Beijing International Chamber of Commerce; Senior Fellow at the Center for China and Globalization; member of the International Advisory Council of Wuhan Government; economic advisor to the Governments of Jilin City and Huainan; Special Consultant to the Government of Huludao; Councilor of the Foreign Trade Council of the Federation of Commerce of São Paulo and Director of Federation of International Chambers of Commerce in the National Confederation of Commerce of Brazil.
Charles is quoted by The New York Times, The Economist, Financial Times, USA Today, BBC World TV, and others. He is a regular commentator for CCTV News, and has been a guest speaker for The Economist, The Economist Intelligence Unit, The Financial Times, Financial Times Live, Asia Finance, UNCTAD’s World Investment Forum, and etc.
He earned bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, completed law school at the Estácio de Sá University, where he was also an assistant professor of Economic Development, and completed his doctoral course at Paris V, Sorbonne.
